Wafaa Development and Capacity Building
Wafaa International Group was established in 2012 as an initiative by the Republic of Indonesia, following recommendations from the International Humanitarian Conference to support victims of occupation, assist refugees, and contribute to capacity building in affected communities. Since then, Wafaa has grown into a registered non-profit organization in Indonesia, Turkey, Lebanon, the United Kingdom (London), and Austria. Its work focuses on humanitarian aid, development, and partnerships with local and international institutions.
In 2014, Wafaa opened its office in Palestine and was officially registered as a non-profit association. The organization is based in Ramallah and now operates three offices in the West Bank—serving the central, northern, and southern areas. This local presence allows Wafaa to respond more effectively to community needs on the ground.
In 2021, Wafaa International was granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), strengthening its ability to engage in global discussions and contribute to international development goals.
